About AB Offshore Marine

AB Offshore Marine Services Limited established in 2008 is a Nigerian offshore marine logistics and vessel chartering company that operates and provides specialized vessels to support offshore operations for the oil and gas industry and other maritime-related industries.

We have established an outstanding national and regional reputation for excellence in vessel charter and logistics support in the maritime sector.

We acquired our first two vessels MV Searcher and MV Seeker in 2009, and in 2012 MV Sea Stallion was added. MV Searcher and MV Seeker worked in Addax Petroleum until both were sold in 2012, while Sea Stallion worked with Total Energies from 2013 to 2015 and thereafter for various marine companies on Time Charter basis.

AB Offshore got listed with the Duns and Bradstreet Global Database in 2015 to buttress her international credibility with business partners. In that same year, we won and started our first direct 5 years Master Time Charter Agreement (MTCA) contract with an IOC – ExxonMobil Nigeria, and within 2 years became one of the leading offshore support vessel providers in ExxonMobil Nigeria operating 5 vessels within her field. This was followed by a request for 6 additional crew supply and security vessels to be added to the contract. AB Offshore thereafter embarked on an aggressive acquisition plan to meet the growing demands for offshore support vessels.

In 2016, our registered address was amended to Lagos Nigeria as the head office while Port Harcourt Nigeria became the operational base.

In 2017, our name was changed from “Ashbard Marine Services Limited” to “AB Offshore Marine Services Limited” for better strategic positioning in response to evolving business, and market expansion, as well as to enhance our company’s image. This was a reflection of our commitment to aligning our company’s name with our vision to become the most efficient and biggest provider of marine logistics services.

In 2019, AB Offshore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nigerian Navy for the Provision of Maritime Logistics Support for Maritime Security Within the Nigerian Maritime Environment. This made us an independent provider of private maritime security services in Nigeria.

The advent of COVID-19 global Pandemic in 2020 disrupted businesses globally, AB Offshore long term contracts were greatly affected, and we were able to react positively by strategizing and refocusing our operations on the security escort market. We successfully signed three major contracts with three leading international maritime security companies to handle escort operations within the Nigerian EEZ.

In 2020 also, AB Offshore won another major Master Charter Party Contract (MCPC) with Chevron Nigeria Limited, to provide specialized terminal support ASD LHTs vessels for their Export Terminal operations in Escravos which is still actively ongoing.

To increase our security escort capacity in 2021, we acquired MV Sea Valour a Fast Crew Boat from Malaysia as part of our vessel acquisition and fleet expansion plan.

Over the years AB Offshore had developed excellent management and operational standards that enabled her gain several quality certifications and licenses at par with international standards and best practices.

In addition to our membership with the International Maritime Contractors Association (IMCA), Duns and Bradstreet, We also became a certified member of ICoCA in January 2024 after undergoing a rigorous process built on the standards of the Montreux Document and the International Code of Conduct for Private Security.
