Vessel Security Alert

Coast of Yemen-Gulf of Aden

We’re closely monitoring reports of a recent maritime security incident off the coast of Yemen, underscoring the critical importance of vessel safety and security measures in the maritime industry.

According to the MarineLink and United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), there has been a reported failed hijacking attempt of a vessel approximately 195 nautical miles east of Yemen’s Aden. The vessel’s master reported being approached by a small craft carrying armed individuals with ladders.

Instances like these serve as stark reminders of the ongoing security challenges faced by vessels navigating through these waters. Our thoughts are with the crew and all those affected by this incident, and we commend the swift and decisive actions taken by the security team on board.

Safety remains our utmost priority. As an industry leader in offshore maritime security and logistics support services, we reaffirm our commitment to implementing robust security protocols and measures in the Gulf of Guinea to ensure the safety and well-being of client vessels, our vessels, and crew members.

We encourage all stakeholders to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing security threats in the maritime domain. Together, we can continue to safeguard our operations and uphold the integrity of maritime trade.
