U.S.-based marine transportation company Harvey Gulf has taken delivery of the Harvey America vessel OSV.
Harvey Gulf said earlier this week that the Harvey America was the fifth LNG dual fuel offshore supply vessel (OSV)to join its fleet.
The fourth vessel, named Harvey Freedom, was delivered to Harvey in May 2017.
In addition to being powered by cleaner burning natural gas, these vessels are “ENVIRO+, Green Passport” certified by ABS.
The Harvey Freedom is based out of Port Fourchon, Louisiana under a five-year charter with an unnamed oil and gas company.
Harvey’s other three LNG-fueled offshore vessels – Harvey Liberty, Harvey Energy, and Harvey Power – are operating for Shell in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
Harvey Gulf did not provide additional information such as the charterer of the newly delivered vessel. The first three LNG OSVs have been chartered to Shell while the fourth is on a charter to an unnamed oil and gas company.
Worth mentioning, Harvey Gulf is currently constructing the first LNG marine fueling facility in the United States to be located at its vessel facility in Port Fourchon.
The fueling facility will be a valuable addition to the growing US LNG supply infrastructure, supporting operations of the oil and gas industry’s offshore support vessel fleet operating on LNG.
